New Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has dropped a heavy hint that Federico Dimarco will be staying with the club for the upcoming campaign despite regularly being linked with a move away, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media yesterday.

Speaking to Sky Sport after the first pre-season friendly against FC Lugano, Simone Inzaghi showed how happy he was with the players he currently has at his disposal and discussed how hard it will be to incorporate all the players coming back from holidays.

“The ones we have at our disposal are all very serious guys. Tomorrow Stefan de Vrij will arrive, the day after tomorrow Marcelo Brozovic, a little at a time we have to insert the new ones and we will need a lot of patience and a lot of work.”

Simone Inzaghi also specifically named Federico Dimarco as a player that has impressed him so far in training and against FC Lugano. The left-back has been heavily linked with another loan move or even a permanent switch to help Inter raise money.

“Federico Dimarco is doing very well in these first days of retreat and I really think he will stay with us because he deserves it, both for what he has done in the last two years in Verona and in these first days of athletic training.”

Recent reports suggested that the man who spent last season with Hellas Verona could be used in a swap deal with AS Roma for Alessandro Florenzi.
