Inter will soon have to open talks with Marcelo Brozovic for a new contract but it is expected that talks will drag on for a long time, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera today, the Croatian midfielder is not going to change his mind about the fact that he wants a sizeable pay increase to reflect the years of quality service he has given the club.

Marcelo Brozovic has been a key player in the Inter midfield under Antonio Conte and Luciano Spalletti before him and he looks set to be just as important for Simone Inzaghi during the upcoming season.

The Croatian’s contract runs out in 2022 so the club need to get him to sign a new one or sell him this summer.

He currently earns €4 million a season but with the new player Hakan Calhanoglu earning €5.5 million, Marcelo Brozovic feels he should be paid more.
