Inter’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio has been paying close attention to Inter target Nahitan Nandez since he was playing for Penarol in Uruguay, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla for La Gazzetta dello Sport, Piero Ausilio has been a major fan of Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez for much longer than many people may realise. He has been following his career closely ever since he was playing for Uruguayan side Penarol from 2014-2017.

The main characteristics that Inter’s Sporting Director admires about the 25-year-old are his incredible pace and enthusiasm whilst on the pitch. He will be able to bring much-needed energy to Inter in tough situations.

The main reason now that Inter wants to sign Nahitan Nandez is that he has the versatility to replace Achraf Hakimi at right-wing back if needed but he can also do a very credible job in the midfield.
