Inter are set to continue negotiations over the arrival of Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez with further talks with the Rossoblu on Wednesday.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it., who report that the Nerazzurri have agreed terms with the player, but not yet with the club over a deal.

The Nerazzurri have stepped up their pursuit of the versatile Uruguayan in recent weeks, with the player seen as being a potential replacement for the departed Achraf Hakimi on the right side of the squad.

The club have come to an agreement with the 25-year-old over a teal which would see him come to the Giuseppe Meazza on a four year deal.

The player has a release clause of €36 million with the Rossoblu, although the Sardinians are thought to hope for an amount close to €30 million with their asking price.

The Nerazzurri want to bring the player in on loan initially with a purchase option, although it remains to be seen whether the Rossoblu would be willing to meet them on such an arrangement.

Inter are offering €2-3 million for the initial loan, in addition to exploring the possibility of player exchanges, although Cagliari are only interested in cash.

More will be revealed when the two clubs hold further talks, with the Nerazzurri set to meet with the player’s agent Pablo Bentancur and Cagliari Sporting Director Stefano Capozucca this Wednesday.
