Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia has been discussing how the team’s preparations have been going under new boss Simone Inzaghi after the end of their first pre-season friendly, according to a report in the Swiss broadcast media.

Speaking after the game against Lugano to Swiss TV channel RSI, Andrea Ranocchia showed that he and the rest of the team are doing everything they can to click into Simone Inzaghi’s system and his demands.

“The preparation has started well, but we are trying to give our best to the coach and to understand his concepts.”

The Inter defender also discussed how much the team are looking forward to the players who have been away on international duty coming back so that they can rotate a bit more effectively in future friendlies.

“We wait for the other guys who will arrive slowly. These are all good tests, they are needed to put minutes in the legs and to optimize the condition. We want to be ready for the start of the championship.”

The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Nicolo Barella, Lautaro Martinez, Arturo Vidal, and Alexis Sanchez have all been at either Euro 2020 or Copa America, so now they are on holiday before rejoining the squad for training and preparations for the new season coming up.
