Inter look set to miss out on reported right-sided target Davide Zappacosta, as the Chelsea man is being closely pursued by Fiorentina.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that La Viola are looking to sign the 29-year-old as a replacement for the departing Pol Lirola.

The Nerazzurri have made the arrival of a right-sided player a priority in the summer transfer market, with the departure of Achraf Hakimi for Paris Saint-Germain leading the club to search for a replacement for the Moroccan in the squad.

Zappacosta’s name is thought to be one the club’s list, as they have sounded out his current club Chelsea about the possibility of bringing the Italian in.

However, the player is being target by Firoentina, with the Tuscan club close to selling existing right-back option Pol Lirola to Marseille on a permanent basis for €12 million, and having identified Zappacosta as their priority arrival in his place.
