Inter and Cagliari have yet to reach an agreement on the transfer of Uruaguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his site that the Nerazzurri will only take the player on loan with an option to buy, but that the two clubs will continue talks in the hope that an agreement will be found.

The Nerazzurri are thought to have stepped up their pursuit of Nandez in recent days, with the versatile Uruguayan a potential option to replace the departed Achraf Hakimi.

It is thought that terms have been agreed between the player and the Nerazzurri, but as Di Marzio confirms, there is still work to be done between the clubs.

The Nerazzurri have been clear about the fact that they are only able to sign players on loan, and certain fees, due to restrictions on spending as they look to meet financial targets during the summer, but they will hope that this can be accommodated by the Rossoblu.
