Inter CEO Beppe Marotta will not travel with the team to the pre-season Florida Cup tournament.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the CEO will remain in Italy to work on transfer negotiations while the club are participating in the engagement in the US.

The Florida Cup is set to be one of the main events in the Nerazzurri’s pre-season, with Sunday’s friendly match against English side Arsenal a more prominent opportunity to get an early view into Simone Inzaghi’s Inter side heading into next season than friendlies which have already been played.

Marotta will not be attending with the rest of the squad, as the CEO looks to devote his full attention to a busy and challenging transfer window for the Nerazzurri, with the club looking to add players in a number of positions and offload several players on high wages, all keeping strict budgetary concerns in mind.

Additionally, the club look set to send a reduced delegation to the engagement, as concerns around the Delta variant of COVID-19 in the US cause them to take caution in their approach.
