Inter are looking to step up their pursuit of Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez, having agreed terms with the player and hoping to find the right formula for a deal with his current club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta will meet with Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini tomorrow with a view to progressing talks over the Uruguayan.

The versatile Uruguayan proved last season that he is capable of playing in a right-sided role, and it is reported that should he arrive he will be the player to replace Achraf Hakimi and that the Nerazzurri will no longer be pursuing other targets in the position.

The player wants Inter and the two clubs are working to find a way to make the deal happen, although there is still some distance between the two on the finances involved.

The Nerazzurri want a paid loan with a purchase option, while the Rossoblu are still asking for a greater guarantee of payment of their valuation than such an arrangement.

The possibility of players going the other way as part of a deal has come up, with midfielder Lucien Agoume thought to be a player who the Rossoblu like, while Andrea Pinamonti is less likely (because of his high salary), as is young striker Martin Satriano (due to interest from a number of other clubs).
