Inter have decided to withdraw from the Florida Cup pre-season friendly tournament, joining Arsenal who also dropped out of the event yesterday.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who reported on air moments ago that the Nerazzurri have made their choice based on health concerns amid the infection rate for COVID-19 in Florida due to the Delta variant of the virus.

The Nerazzurri are currently preparing for the upcoming in the pre-season training camp, and had been scheduled to leave for the US tomorrow, where they would participate in the pre-season tournament alongside English clubs Arsenal and Everton, and Colombian side Millionarios.

The first scheduled fixture of the tournament would have seen Inter and Arsenal face each other in a friendly match this Sunday.

However, the Gunners have dropped out of the event after several positive tests for COVID-19 were returned within their camp and it was decided that it would not be safe to travel.

The Nerazzurri had already been considering withdrawing for health and safety reasons, and they have now joined the Gunners in withdrawing from the event.
