Inter will formally announce blockchain company Socios.com as their new shirt sponsor for next season today.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the partnership will be made official today with the heir to Pirelli as the main shirt sponsor for the Nerazzurri.

With the 26-year partnership with tire manufacturer having ended this summer at the end of the company’s contract as the Nerazzurri’s shirt sponsor, the club have been in search of a new sponsor.

It has been thought for some time that Socios.com would be the company to step in but now this will be officially recognized, and the logo will begin appearing on Nerazzurri kits.

The Malta-based company uses blockchain technology to make “fan tokens” which allow football supporters to interact with clubs and participate in decision-making, and just yesterday announced a partnership with English giants having already also been named as the shirt sponsor for Spanish side Valencia.

The deal with Socios.com is set to earn the Nerazzurri €20 million, which in conjunction with €5 million from Lenovo who sponsor the back of the shirt and an additional amount from an as-yet-unnamed sleeve sponsor should net the club around €30 million, the amount that they had been seeking in their search to replace Pirelli.
