Inter are considering signing Felipe Caicedo from Lazio as a backup to Romelu Lukaku in the centre-forward position, but they could face trouble in trying to bring the Ecuadorian in.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that Biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito would be reluctant to sell the player, valued at €8 million, to Inter.

The Biancocelesti president is still thought to feel annoyed by the conduct of the Nerazzurri and head coach Simone Inzaghi during the process of the Italian tactician’s decision to leave Lazio at the end of his contract to join Inter.

As such, he would prefer not to do any deals with the Nerazzurri in this window which would strengthen them headed into next season.

Caicedo is seen as having the right profile to deputize for Lukaku by the club, and the 32-year-old would be happy to reunite with his manager from last season in Milan, but it remains to be seen whether any agreement could be reached with Lotito and Lazio.
