Inter have cancelled their friendly match against Atletico Madrid in Israel, which had been scheduled for August 8.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the change constitutes a further disruption to the Nerazzurri’s pre-season plans after the withdrawal from participation in the Florida Cup pre-season tournament.

The Nerazzurri had been scheduled to depart for the US today where they would participate in the Florida Cup alongside the likes of Arsenal, Everton, and Millionarios, but plans for the competition fell apart over concerns regarding COVID-19.

It is likely that the Nerazzurri will have to reimburse the event’s organizers for loss of income incurred due to their pulling out.

Meanwhile, the friendly against the Colchoneros in Israel , which had been slated to be another of the major events in the Nerazzurri’s pre-season, will also not go ahead, with the club now planning to play a friendly fixture against Parma instead.
