Nahitan Nandez is still the favourite to arrive at Inter this summer as a right-sided option to replace the departed Achraf Hakimi.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the player’s strong desire to join the Nerazzurri could play a major factor in influencing the outcome of negotiations.

Inter have stepped up their pursuit of Nandez in recent weeks, with the versatile Uruguan seen as a potential option to replace Hakimi after the Moroccan’s departure for Paris Saint-Germain, due to the impressive form that Nandez showed playing in a right-sided role under Cagliari manager Leonardo Semplici last season.

The player is reported to have agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri already, and he has made his preference to join Inter known.

Talks yesterday between the two clubs regarding a move for the player are thought to have been inconclusive, with some distance remaining before an agreement could be reached, but the player’s will could end up being a deciding factor in convincing the Rossoblu to agree on a deal with the Nerazzurri.
