Italian coach Rolando Maran has given his prediction for how Simone Inzaghi will replace Antonio Conte as head coach at Inter.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the experienced tactician who has taken charge of Serie sides Chievo, Cagliari, and Genoa in the recent past gave his thoughts about the new Inter manager.

For Maran, Inzaghi’s arrival does not mark a radical stylistic adjustment from Conte’s ideas at the club over the past two seasons, but rather should constitute a relatively gentle transition away from the departed manager.

As Maran emphasizes, even though there will have to be a shift to the new manager, there are similarities between his ideas about football and those of his predecessor.

Nerazzurri supporters will hope that the former Lazio manager can hit the ground running in his first season in charge of the Nerazzurri, and that he can hold off the challenges from the many other strong teams in Serie A to repeat Conte’s feat of winning the Scudetto.

Maran’s words:

“Arriving after a team has won is never easy. Partly because it is impossible to improve on this previous result. I repeat, it is not easy.

“However, Inter have chosen a coach who gives continuity to a certain parts of the work of Cont, and who will also be able to add his own ideas on the basis of the technical material available.”
