Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal could join Argentine giants Boca Juniors should he choose to terminate his contract with the Nerazzurri.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Argentine side are interested in the Chilean and would consider his arrival should he be out of contract this summer.

Vidal is thought to be a player who the Nerazzurri str hoping to part ways with this summer, with the midfielder not a significant part of plans for the upcoming season and his net €7 million salary considered highly excessive.

The 34-year-old has attracted interest from a number of clubs, but no offers have been made to the player which would be able to match the size of his current salary with Inter even if he is to depart without a transfer fee.

The Nerazzurri have been exploring terminating the player’s contract with severance pay in order to ensure that they do not have to pay out the entirety of the wages remaining on the final season of his contract.

The player, for his part, would only depart from the Nerazzurri should he have a club in mind as his destination for next season.

Boca have made their interest known, and should they move forward with their interest Vidal’s talks with the Nerazzurri about a mutual agreement on the termination of his contract could be accelerated.
