Young Inter players Lucien Agoume and Eddie Salcedo want to stay at the Nerazzurri and are hopeful of establishing roles for themselves in the starting eleven.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the duo are among the youngsters who could remain with the club rather than departing on loan during the summer.

The Nerazzurri will have to decide on the futures of a number of players during the transfer window, with a number of youth sector players and loan returnees needing the right environment to foster their development.

Moves away are expected for the majority of youngsters, but Agoume and Salcedo are among the players who believe that they are ready to stay and fight for their places with the Nerazzurri first team.

19-year-old midfielder Agoume has attracted interest from a number of Italian and French clubs after his spell on loan with Spezia last season, but it is thought to be his preference to remain at Inter and work with the senior squad and head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Were he to stay at the club, Agoume would be seen as a like-for-like backup option for central midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

Another player who has returned from loan is striker Salcedo, who has been with Hellas Verona for the past two seasons, and he is another who could hope to stay at Inter next season, with the player a potential rotation option in attack available to the head coach.
