Former Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt is determined to join Inter and is waiting for the green light to make the switch, but the club must raise funds first.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, the Netherlands international is a free agent after his contract at Selhurst Park expired and he is yet to commit to a new club as he waits for a call from Inter.

Van Aanholt’s agent is thought to be expecting a call from Inter to finalise a free transfer to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and the player is ready to wait, but the Nerazzurri are not yet in a position to offer him a contract.

Any move for the 30-year-old is dependent on Inter receiving a suitable offer for current left wing-back Ivan Perisic and thus far no team has shown a strong enough interest.

Should Inter be able to raise funds by selling the Croatian, they will then focus their attention on van Aanholt.
