Inter’s search for a back-up striker could see them turn to Lazio forward Felipe Caicedo, according to Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini.

Writing in an editorial on Tuttomercatoweb.com, Ceccarini assessed Inter’s transfer strategy and suggested that an additional attacker could be amongst the priorities, particularly if the Nerazzurri send 22-year-old striker Andrea Pinamonti out on loan.

Whilst Inter are thought to be considering a return for their former player Keita Balde from Monaco, Ceccarini claimed that a new name has been thrown into the mix to serve as an alternative to Romelu Lukaku.

Indeed, it is suggested that new coach Simone Inzaghi will turn to former club Lazio for their Ecuadorian international Caicedo, who could be set to leave the Biancoceleste.

The former Manchester City striker only has a year left on his contract at the Stadio Olimpico and enjoys a strong relationship with Inzaghi, paving the way for a potential move to Inter.
