Inter are ready to sanction a deal that would see striker Andrea Pinamonti move to newly-promoted Empoli on loan this season.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri received a proposal from Empoli on Friday to take the 22-year-old and are weighing it up, with the Azzurri ready to make Pinamonti the focal point of their attack.

New Inter coach Simone Inzaghi sees little room for Pinamonti in his squad this season and the former Genoa loanee would serve as fourth choice behind Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez, and Alexis Sanchez.

Earning over €2 million per season, Inter have found it difficult to move Pinamonti on due to a reluctance from anyone to take on his wages, and may be willing to cover a substantial part of his salary should he make the switch to Empoli.

However, the Nerazzurri are also contemplating using him as a bargaining chip in their pursuit of Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, and his future may yet lie in Sardinia.
