Legendary former Inter midfielder Evaristo Beccalossi has given his assessment of the Nerazzurri’s squad headed into the 2021-22 season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportItalia yesterday afternoon, the Nerazzurri great spoke highly of the players at the club’s disposal, and suggested that the club are on the right track.

Beccalossi himself had a great inter career career, making 216 Serie A appearances for the club between 1978 and 1984 after joining from Brescia, and winning the Scudetto with the club in 1980.

The former playmaker believes that the current squad already has several players of the kind of quality that he showed as a player, and that should the squad be held together and no major sales be made after the loss of Achraf Hakimi, the team will be strong enough to seriously compete for its aims.

Beccalossi makes clear that he would like to see some quality arrivals, but ultimately sees the core of the squad as strong enough that the future looks bright.

He stated that “As long as we stay like this I am happy and confident, we hope to stay like this and make some signings.

“But the concern some top players will not be touched is worrying, but for now we need to think about putting the club in order. If we remain like this, in my opinion we are already on the right track.”
