Inter have taken steps to immunise their squad against COVID-19 and have scheduled vaccinations for players ahead of the new season.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are aiming to have all players and staff vaccinated ahead of the start of the campaign, as they kick off against Genoa on 21 August.

The club will arrange the first round of vaccinations as soon as possible so as to leave enough time for recipients to receive their second dose before the season begins.

However, the vaccination will only be offered to those who have not already contracted COVID-19, and the situation of such players and staff will be considered with regular tests.

Many of the squad have already received their first dose ahead of competing in Euro 2020 or the Copa America, but Inter are keen to ensure any remaining players and staff are also vaccinated.

The newspaper warns of the aggressive nature of the new Delta variant of the coronavirus however, with Inter and other clubs in Serie A set to continue with preventative measures to avoid more cases.
