Inter are locked in negotiations to terminate the contract of Radja Nainggolan to allow him to move to Cagliari, but there is still a considerable gap in the figures being discussed.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Belgian midfielder is determined to join former club Cagliari, whilst Inter are also keen to offload him and get his wages off their books.

Nainggolan has one year remaining on the contract he signed when joining from Roma in 2018 and is ready to terminate this in order to become a free agent, paving the way to move to Sardinia.

Whilst Inter are also ready to cancel the final year of his deal, the severance terms being offered are reported to be €800,000 short of Nainggolan’s demands and no agreement has been reached yet.

The newspaper highlights that whilst Inter are reluctant to increase their offer, better terms would make it easier for Cagliari to afford Nainggolan. This in turn would likely smoothen negotiations between the two clubs for Inter’s pursuit of midfielder Nahitan Nandez.
