Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has reported for preseason training after being granted time off following his involvement at Euro 2020.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Repubblica, the Belgian international underwent fitness tests and joined the group for the first time since departing at the end of last season.

Lukaku had been on international duty and helped Belgium reach the quarter-finals of Euro 2020, as they were eliminated by eventual champions Italy, and his involvement in the latter stages of the tournament saw his leave extended.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea striker has also been on holiday in New York, Miami, and the Caribbean but has returned to training as he seeks to help Inter defend their Serie A title.

Coach Simone Inzaghi is close to having his full squad available to him now, with Lautaro Martinez, Ivan Perisic, Alexis Sanchez, and Arturo Vidal due to report back tomorrow.

Italian pair Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella will be the last to return and are scheduled to join the group next week.
