Federico Dimarco could nail down a starting role for himself on the left at Inter, with the 23-year-old having impressed head coach Simone Inzaghi in pre-season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the player’s attacking exploits as a left-wing-back during a friendly against Pergolottese have put him in the coach’s thinking.

It is thought that with the departure of Ashley Young and the possible sale of Ivan Perisic during the window, the Nerazzurri are considering the signing of a left-sided player to strengthen the wide options available to Inzaghi for next season.

However, Dimarco’s return from his loan spell with Hellas Verona has provided another possibility, with a stay at the Giuseppe Meazza for next season considered a possibility.

Inzaghi has liked what he’s seen from the 23-year-old so far, and the possibility that he chooses to put his trust in the player rather than relying on a new arrival should not be ruled out.
