Inter have identified Atalanta’s Matteo Pessina as a long-term target to reinforce their midfield, and will move for the Italian next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 24-year-old will not arrive at the Giuseppe Meazza due to a clause involving AC Milan but should be easier to sign next summer.

As part of the terms of Pessina’s sale from the Milan to Atalanta in 2018, should the player be sold on by the Bergamo-based club before making one hundred appearances for them, then 50% of the transfer fee involved will go to the Rossoneri.

As such, La Dei are not likely to agree on the player’s sale in the summer transfer window, as he has only made a total of 59 appearances for the club so far.

However, it is probable that the 24-year-old will have reached one hundred appearances during the 2020-21 season, and should be the case then a path could be clear for the Nerazzurri to move for him.
