Inter are set to face Serie B side Crotone in a friendly match on Wednesday at their training complex.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the friendly encounter will fill in for the pre-season fixture missed due to the Nerazzurri’s withdrawal from the Florida Cup.

Inter had been scheduled for participation in the Florida Cup during the weekend and the early part of this week, but the club withdrew from the event alongside English club Arsenal due to concerns over the COVID-19 infection rate in the US and the Delta variant of the virus.

Crotone, one of the three teams to drop down to Serie B from the top division last season, have been selected as the opponent for a pre-season friendly this week in place of the Florida Cup engagement to ensure that the players can come up to match fitness, and the agreement on Wednesday’s friendly should come soon.
