Inter striker Romelu Lukaku could be involved in Wednesday’s friendly match against Serie A side Crotone at the Nerazzurri’s training complex.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the friendly could be the Belgian’s first appearance under new head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Lukaku returned to training to be with the squad today, having finished with his holidays after the exertions of the long club season and the subsequent participation in the Euros with Belgian.

In addition to coming up to full match fitness in training, the 28-year-old will get his first taste of life under Simone Inzaghi having only ever played in a Nerazzurri shirt under Inzaghi’s predecessor Antonio Conte.

The Belgian will look to gain an understanding of the new manager’s tactical ideas and expectations in training, and an appearance against Crotone this week could give an early glimpse into the role that the Belgian will have under Inzaghi headed into next season.
