Gabriele Oriali is close to departing from Inter as technical coach, though he will remain in his role with the Italian national team.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Italian is close to completing talks with the Nerzzurri and does not intend on staying on for next season.

Oriali arrived alongside Antonio Conte in the summer of 2019, assisting the head coach in his duties for the past two seasons.

However, with Conte’s departure earlier in the summer it had been anticipated that Oriali could follow him, with the technical coach having been close with the former manager and considering his future in view of Conte’s absence.

Oriali is expected to remain with the FIGC however, with the 68-year-old having assisted Azzurri boss Roberto Mancini as the national side won the Euros, and ready to focus all of his energy on continuing in his role with the national team.
