Inter are considering the future of Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez, with the club considering his wages to be excessively high.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 32-year-old could be given a contract renewal which would see his existing wages spread out over several more years.

Sanchez currently earns a net of €7.5 million per season, an amount which is seen as too high for budgetary reasons by the club.

It is not dismissed that the player could be sold or allowed to leave, with the club considering the departures of several players on high wages currently.

However, another solution being considered is to extend his contract beyond its current expiry in the summer of 2024, and spread the wages owed to the player on his deal over more seasons, though it remains to be seen if an agreement could be reached on an arrangement of this nature.
