Talks between Inter and Cagliari about a deal for Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez could accelerate next week.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, who report that the Rossoblu are currently in no hurry to get the deal done but that things look ready to come unblocked starting next week.

The Nerazzurri have stepped up their pursuit for the 25-year-old recently, with the player potentially able to fill in both in central midfield and in a wide right-sided role, making him an appealing target for the Nerazzurri as they look to both strengthen midfield and ensure that head coach Simone Inzaghi has adequate options available to him after the loss of Achraf Hakimi.

Right now Cagliari are still holding firm on their position and the deal is held up, but next week the situation could develop and the clubs could quickly come together on an agreement which would see the Uruguayan become a Nerazzurri player.
