Spanish giants Barcelona have made an approach for Inter defender Stefan de Vrij, but the Nerazzurri have clearly rebuffed them.

This according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, who report that the Nerazzurri have no intention of selling the 29-year-old.

The Blaugranas could be looking for a central defender during the summer transfer window, and de Vrij is among the players they admire in the position with head coach Ronald Koeman keen on the player.

However, after establishing himself at the heart of the Nerazzurri’s defense under head coach Antonio Conte last season, the Dutchman remains firmly in the plans at Inter, with his contributions set to be vital under new manager Simone Inzaghi in the upcoming season.

It remains to be seen whether the Catalan club continue to pursue the Dutch defender, or whether they are put off him by the Nerazzurri’s clear indications that he is not for sale.
