Inter are confident that they will be able to agree a new contract with Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report on their site that the Croatian’s entourage will be in Milan next week to begin talks on extending his deal past June of 2022, when it is set to expire.

Brozovic is an important player for the Nerazzurri, with his performances in Antonio Conte’s side last season having been of great importance to the team’s Scudetto win.

The club want to keep him on and continue to make him a key contributor under Conte’s replacement as head coach Simone Inzaghi, and to this end they are hopeful of reaching an agreement for a renewal, with the club not wanting him to enter the final year of his deal with the possibility of leaving for free next summer.

The 28-year-old is reported to want to stay, and would like to reach an agreement with the club, though it still remains to be seen if an agreement will be reached.
