Inter are hoping that midfielder Roberto Gagliardini will not miss more than 15-20 days through a knee injury which he sustained in training during training on Tuesday.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 27-year-old will undergo tests next week which should shed light on his condition and reveal how much time he will miss.

The former Atalanta midfielder suffered a strain to his MCL while training, which was revealed by an MRI, and he will need some time to recover though it is not yet known how much.

The club will hope that it will not be longer than a couple of weeks, and that he can return to the squad in time to be available for the early matches of the season, possibly as early as the opener against Genoa on August 21.

As of yet, no further information is known about the player’s condition, but more should be available after next week’s tests.
