Inter are still considering Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso as a target on the left side of the pitch, with the Spaniard seen as a possible replacement for Ivan Perisic.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri are still looking to sign Alonso this summer.

The Nerazzurri have been searching for a left-sided player during the summer transfer window, with Ashley Young having departed for Aston Villa and Perisic’s exit also a possibility.

The wide positions are important in head coach Simone Inzaghi’s idea of football, and the club wish to ensure that strong options are available to the manager on both sides of the pitch.

Perisic could yet remain at the club, and Federico Dimarco looks set to stay after coming back from his loan spell with Hellas Verona, so it remains to be seen whether the club will prioritize an arrival on the left.

However, should they do so, Alonso is still in the front of their thinking for the position.
