Inter will meet with the father of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic next week to begin talks on the extension of the Croatian midfielder’s contract.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that an agreement can be reached that would keep the 28-year-old on at the club past last summer when his current deal expires.

Brozovic currently earns a net of €3.5 million per season, and the player is seeking a wage increase, although the precise amount is yet to be determined by negotiations.

The Croatian had been reported to be seeking an increase to €6 million net per season at one point during the window, but it now seems that he will be more willing to meet the Nerazzurri on the amount.

The midfielder wants to stay and agree a new deal, though it remains to be seen if an agreement will be reached between him and the club.

Should the Nerazzurri not be able to agree an extension with the Croatian, they could opt to sell him this summer rather than lose him for free next summer.
