Young defender Lorenzo Pirola has given his thoughts about his burgeoning career and his relationship to parent club Inter after being loaned out to Serie B side Monza.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Tuttomonza.com, the 19-year-old spoke about being an Inter supporter, and about his relationship with the rest of the Nerazzurri squad.

Pirola had been pursued by Monza this summer after the club were happy with his performances on loan last season, and they have successfully managed to bring the player in on loan for another season.

The young defender is looking forward to another season in Serie B with the promotion hopefuls, and expressed a desire to improve his game following from last season’s exploits, with this an important juncture in his career.

Pirola stated, “this year I expect what I expect last year, to grow, improve, and play regularly.”

About a potential return to the Nerazzurri after his loan is finished, the 19-year-old reflected that he would be happy to play for Inter eventually, as he is a lifelong fan of the club.

“Who knows, I’m an Inter fan,” he stated, continuing “I’ve always been an Interista, it’s one of my goals but now I’m just focusing on the coming season.”

Lastly, Pirola was full of praise for the senior Inter squad, and spoke positively about his interactions with them.

“They have always helped me,” he said, “I have always found very helpful teammates who give me lots of advice to help me grow and make me feel part of the group. Despite being the youngest in the squad, it was fundamental for my growth in the team, to feel their closeness.”
