Cagliari Sporting Director Stefano Capozucca has confirmed that talks are underway between Inter and Cagliari about bringing Rossoblu midfielder Nahitan Nandez to the Nerazzurri for next season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio SkyLab, as reported by TuttoCagliari.com, Capozucca was straightforward in outlining the situation, noting that talks are ongoing and that Nandez will leave for Inter should the right offer come in.

The Nerazzurri had been reported to have stepped up their interest in the 25-year-old and it had been thought that several meetings concerning the player have taken place during the last weeks, but the Cagliari Director’s words make clear that the talks are more than exploratory, and that he Sardinian’s stance is one of openness to allowing the player to join Inter.

Should the versatile Uruguayan arrive at the Giuseppe Meazza this summer, it is thought that he could either add to the central midfielder options in the squad, or fill in on the right after the departure of Achraf Hakimi.

About the situation, Capozucca stated that “There are ongoing discussions with the Nerazzurri. If the offer is adequate Nandez will leave.”
