Inter are close to agreeing a loan move with an option to buy for midfielder CagliariNahitan Nandez, with the clubs close to coming together on a fee, with the deal set to be worth upwards of €22 million.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the the player’s agent Pablo Bentancur has been in Milan today where he has been working on finalizing the deal.

The Nerazzurri began to step up their pursuit of the 25-year-old last week, with the versatile Uruguayan thought to be an option both in central midfield and on the right where he could be signed to replace the contributions of Achraf Hakimi after the Moroccan’s departure for Paris Saint-Germain.

Inter have already agreed terms with the player, and have been in ongoing discussions with the Rossoblu for the past week or so, with the Sardinian club open to the Nerazzurri’s terms of a paid loan with an option to buy.

An agreement is close, and the final deal is set to include an initial loan fee somewhere between the €5 million asked for by Cagliari and Inter’s proposal of €2 million, while the option to buy the player on a permanent basis will be for €20 million.
