Inter could face competition for the signature of Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid making an approach for the right-back.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Colchoneros have made contact with the 26-year-old and his entourage after talks between his agent and current club Arsenal.

Bellerin is a major target of the Nerazzurri in their search for a right-sided player with the correct profile to replace Achraf Hakimi following the Moroccan’s sale to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Spaniard is very amenable to a move, having agreed terms with Inter and handed in a transfer request at Arsenal, but the Gunners have been hesitant to accept the Nerazzurri’s proposed terms of a loan move with an option to buy.

Bellerin’s agent was in London yesterday to meet with the Gunners and attempt to persuade them to allow the 26-year-old to depart and to accept Inter’s offer, with the outcome of those discussions not yet clear.

However, Atletico could swoop, with the Spanish side interested in the player and having made their intentions clear to the player.
