Danilo D’Ambrosio is close to returning to training with the rest of the Inter squad as he is nearly recovered from an injury suffered during a friendly against Pro Vercelli.

This according to Italian new outlet L’Interista, who report that the 32-year-old should resume training by the end of this week.

D’Ambrosio signed a contract extension with the Nerazzurri this summer keeping him on for at least one more season, and the defender will hope that he can make an impact for the club during the upcoming season.

The Italian will have worried after suffering a minor injury during the friendly against the Serie C side, but he will have the opportunity to bring himself back to full fitness over the next three weeks and make himself ready for selection to manager Simone Inzgahi during the Nerazzurri’s opening fixture, with the club’s Serie A season set to begin on August 21 against Genoa.
