Newly-promoted Serie A side Empoli are stepping up their pursuit of Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti, hoping to bring the player in on loan.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 22-year-old is emerging as a serious target for the Tuscan club as they look to reinforce their attack for a season in the top flight.

Pinamonti is a player in the shop window for the Nerazzurri this summer, with the 22-year-old having been out of favour under Antonio Conte and not highly rated by his successor as head coach Simone Inzaghi.

A number of clubs in Italy and elsewhere in Europe have shown an interest in the player as the Nerazzurri look to offload him.

Empoli could be among the most concrete possibilities as a destination for the striker, with the club having determined that he is the right profile to strengthen the attacking options to newly-appointed manager Aurelio Andreazzoli, with whom he worked briefly while at Genoa.

It remains to be seen, however, whether they will be able to convince the Nerazzurri and the player with an offer.
