Inter striker Alexis Sanchez is currently dealing with an injury, but it is not a new knock, and is rather a continuation of a calf injury suffered during the Copa America.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Chilean’s return is still not immediately foreseen, and that he could miss the Nerazzurri’s Serie A opener against Genoa.

Sanchez’s tenure with the Nerazzurri has been marked with a number of fitness problems, and he will hope that he can appear for the club more regularly during the upcoming season.

The 32-year-old may not be off to the most promising start in this regard, however, with a calf injury still causing him problems and keeping him from training with the rest of the squad.

The injury is not, however, a new problem, but rather a recurrence of a problem which he was dealing with while on international duty with Chile at the Copa America.
