Inter are targeting the signing of a striker this summer, with one of Monaco’s Keita Balde and Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca to be moved for after the departure of other players in the position.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will look to offload Andrea Pinamonti and one of Eddie Salcedo and Martin Satriano before stepping up their pursuit of another striker.

Currently the idea at the Nerazzurri is to have five attacking options in total with Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez, and Alexis Sanchez key members of the rotation available to head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Andrea Pinamonti is not in the club’s plans and it is expected he will be loaned out, while the futures of Martin Satriano and Eddie Salcedo are unclear, though it is thought that one will remain in the first team and another will be sent out on loan.

Once the club have clarified the existing options in attack, a fifth striker will be brought in, with the list of targets now likely narrowed down to two.

Balde wants a reunion with former Lazio manager Inzaghi at Inter, and the 26-year-old believes that he can free himself from current club Monaco as he is entering the final year of his deal with the Ligue 1 side.

Meanwhile, Scamacca is a player who the Nerazzurri admire, though it could be difficult to convince Sassuolo to allow the 22-year-old to depart on loan with an option to buy permanently.

The Nerazzurri have a good relationship with the Neroverdi, however, and could look to work out an arrangement for the young striker, possibly involving young players going the other way.
