Inter are not interested in an exchange deal with Roma involving Ivan Perisic and Alessandro Florenzi.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reports on his site that no contacts have been made about such an operation and that it is highly unlikely to happen.

A swap deal involving Perisic and Florenzi is reported to have been proposed, with the Croatian entering the final year of his Inter deal without a renewal offer in sight and the Italian not thought to have a future with the Giallorossi after returning this summer from loan spells with Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain.

The idea of the deal is thought to be that Florenzi could be among the Nerazzurri’s list of targets to replace Achraf Hakimi on the right side of the pitch, while Perisic is targeted by Giallorossi boss Jose Mourinho, and so a swap could be mutually beneficial.

However, Pedulla clarifies that there is no grounding for these rumours, and that despite a veneer of plausibility to them they are not likely to go anywhere.

“Perisic for Florenzi is not an exchange being thought about, but rather fantasy football. Florenzi will find a solution after returning to Roma from the loan with Paris Saint-Germain. Perisic has a contract expiring, at the moment he is with Inter, if offers arrive later they will be evaluated.”

He continues, “We have no doubt that Mourinho would like the Croatian, but the exchange with Florenzi is fantasy football.”
