Arsenal have emerged as a surprise destination for Lautaro Martinez should he leave Inter this summer, according to a report in the English media today.

As has been reported by The Athletic in England today, Arsenal had not previously considered the Argentine as a viable transfer option but the financial difficulties that Inter are in make him a more plausible option.

It is known that Lautaro Martinez is in a contract stand-off with Inter right now as he is expecting to receive a wage increase on the €2.5 million he reportedly receives a year. Inter are dragging their heels over negotiations and it is thought that with a bid of around €80 million, they may part ways with Lautaro Martinez.

Arsenal would have to sell Alexandre Lacazette as well as others in order to finance the deal as they are not big spenders and have just confirmed the signing on Ben White for £50 million.
