Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has shown how excited he is for the upcoming season where fans will be back inside San Siro, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with the Italian version of GQ, the Dutchman expressed his delight at being able to lay in front of Inter’s fans once again. He also explained how much of a fan he is of the new Inter short for this season.

Inter have not played in front of their loyal fans since February 2020 when the coronavirus suddenly gripped the country and later the continent. Stefan de Vrij believes it will be a very emotional occasion when the team walks out to the cheers of the fans once again.

“There is nothing more beautiful for us than hearing our fans. We hope to be able to embrace our fans again soon at the stadium as well.”

Inter have received a lot of praise for their new home shirt this season which is modelled on the skin of a snake. It is clear that the centre back is a fan of it too.

“I really like our new shirt, it has a lot of style, and then the Scudetto on the chest is the utmost pride and greater motivation to continue doing well together.”
