Napoli are still keeping a close eye on Inter midfielder Matias Vecino as Luciano Spalleti looks to bolster his options in the middle of the park, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Uruguayan midfielder has been scouted by Napoli for much of the summer but no concrete proposals or contacts have been made between the Azzurri and Inter.

Matias Vecino has been expected to depart the club this summer as he is a fringe player and Inter need to raise a lot of money from player sales due to their difficult financial position. That being said, it is believed he wants to stay at Inter and fight for his place.

Napoli do have other targets to pursue in midfield should Matias Vecino have no interest in the move, such as Sheffield United’s Sander Berge who interests many Premier League clubs.
