The next few days will prove key for Empoli as they look to secure a deal for Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti who wants to leave for more regular playing time, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport today, the newly promoted Serie A side have made significant progress in reaching an agreement with the striker on his salary, so now they must agree on a fee or a loan structure with Inter to make the 22-year-old theirs.

By selling Andrea Pinamonti, Inter will then be able to pursue a player who will provide a more like-for-like rotation option with Romelu Lukaku. There was times last season where the Belgian needed a rest but there was no one in the squad who could replicate his impact.

Names such as Keita Balde and Gianluca Scamacca will likely be explored should Andrea Pinamonti leave.
