Inter left-back Federico Dimarco has pleasantly surprised everyone at Inter during pre-season with his quality and commitment, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Simone Inzaghi in particular is very happy with the quality that has been shown by the 23-year-old given at one stage it looked very likely that he would be sent out on loan or even sold by the Nerazzurri.

He was particularly impressive in the opening pre-season friendly against FC Lugano which Inter won on penalties thanks to Andrea Ranocchia.

Simone Inzaghi is most pleased with the versatility that he clearly developed whilst working under Ivan Juric at Hellas Verona for the last 18 months on loan away from Inter.

Federico Dimarco can play on the left wing which is where he will most regularly feature but he can also play on the left of a defensive three.
